This year’s Hi-GEAR was another week of action-packed engineering activities for high school girls passionate about science and technology.
Twenty-five ninth-through-12th-grade girls from Utah, Arizona and Nevada arrived at the University of Utah’s College of Engineering campus to participate in a wide-range of fun projects. The event was held June 13 – 20.
Activities included testing water samples from Red Butte Creek, a tour of the HollyFrontier refinery in Woods Cross, extracting DNA from strawberries and building air quality sensors. Click below for a gallery of photos from this year’s event.
