Hundreds of engineering students gathered at the Catmull Gallery in the Warnock Engineering Building Jan. 15 for the Engineering Club Rush, a biannual event in which students can learn about the various engineering clubs on campus.
This spring, 15 clubs were on hand to greet students, including the University of Utah chapters of the National Society of Black Engineers, the Society of Hispanic Professional engineers, the Society of Women Engineers and Women in Computing. The event is also held each fall.
Joining an engineering club is a great way for students to become more involved in campus activities by meeting with people who have shared interests. It also provides opportunities for leadership, friendship, social networking, and professional networking There are 40 different engineering clubs at the U ranging in interests from robotics to hydroponics.
