Chemical Engineering Associate Professor Kerry Kelly’s air quality research continues to be nationally recognized. The award-winning nonprofit media organization The Story Exchange has followed up Kelly’s 2022 Women in Science Incentive Prize with a short documentary highlighting her work monitoring and combatting Utah’s unique air quality challenges.
Founded in 2011, The Story Exchange is dedicated to elevating women’s voices. In partnerships with the New York Times, Forbes, and other influential media outlets, they promote innovative, entrepreneurial women — with a special focus on female scientists in the environmental field.
In The Story Exchange’s latest video, part of its Women Entrepreneurs series, Kelly describes the problems posed by a shrinking Great Salt Lake and her multifaceted efforts to reduce the harm of the resultant dust and heavy metal pollution.
