The University of Utah’s College of Engineering is one of the best values for a computer science and engineering education in the western United States, according to a new ranking from Great Value Colleges.net.
According to the study, the U’s engineering college was ranked fourth best in the West behind Stanford, California Institute of Technology and the University of Washington. The rankings were based on first examining the top computer science and engineering programs according to US News and World Report and then calculating each school’s adjusted average tuition.
The U out-ranked other colleges including the University of California at Berkeley and UCLA as well as Brigham Young University. “The University of Utah… is affordable even for out-of-state students — and in-state students get a real deal!” according to the study.
“We have known what a great bargain a University of Utah engineering and computer science education is,” said College of Engineering Dean Richard Brown. “It’s nice to see this organization verify that.”
