Silicon Technologies, Inc. is leading the analog IC design industry by developing and using analog design tools that greatly decreases the design time and increases efficiency. Our main customer is the US Department of Defense and they have recognized that we play an essential role in modernizing the US military’s technology. STI is headquartered in the Salt Lake Metropolitan area.
The successful intern candidate will possess a reasonable understanding of IC design, semiconductor devices, SPICE (or other circuit simulator) and be a driven, committed team player.
You will aid in designing and simulating with state of the art transistors sizes as well as simulating radiation effects on those circuits. As an intern, you have the chance to have a uniquely large impact on the success of the company, the United States semiconductor industry, and the next generation of semiconductor design.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Working with state-of-the-art IC design tools and manufacturing processes.
• Designing and simulation of analog circuits.
• Using the latest state-of-the-art physical design (layout) software with new methodologies and automation tools while learning layout.
• Developing high speed models (VerilogA) and automation scripts.
• Extracting physical layout and simulating those models.
• Doing simulations of cosmic radiation effects on analog microelectronics.
Minimum Reqiurements:
• Candidate must be currently enrolled as a junior, senior, or graduate level in an Electrical Engineering program.
• Knowledge of CMOS devices and analog circuit design concepts.
• Familiarity with Spectre, HSPICE or another brand of Spice.
• Full time summer work with the option of continued part time work (10-20 hrs/wk) during the school year. Potential permanent full time after graduation.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, due to Department of Defense requirements.
