This unique program aims to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the aerospace field.
Eligibility:
- Current engineering undergraduate student at the University of Utah
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Open to all engineering disciplines, with a special encouragement for students in Mechanical Engineering, the School of Computing, and Electrical & Computer Engineering

If engineering students are interested in an internship at Lockheed Martin for summer 2025, internship positions will be posted on this page. We recommend that you sign up for job alerts on the Lockheed Martin website here and check their website weekly. Lockheed Martin anticipates that most internship positions will be filled by Thanksgiving, if not sooner.

Apogee Worx
Apogee Worx is excited to announce two internship openings for the upcoming year. They are seeking one junior in Electrical Engineering and one junior in Mechanical Engineering. Apogee Worx specializes in research and development as well as production, offering interns hands-on experience in upgrading and modifying aircraft.

NASA Internship – Software Engineering for Machine Learning and Uncertainty Quantification
Details: Coding focused internship at NASA. The project entails software engineering work on some of NASA’s open-course Python libraries as well as some non-public NASA software.
Qualifications: NASA is looking for an undergraduate sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student (master’s or doctoral) studying engineering or computer science. You must be a U.S. Citizen to be considered for the position. Candidates must also be proficient in Python.
Recommendations: Experience with other languages, such as C++, may be useful. It is also beneficial to have experience with clean coding practices, performance optimization, version control, and software deployment. Knowledge or experience with machine learning and uncertainty quantification can also be useful but is not required.

NASA Internship – Machine Learning and Simulation for X-Ray Defect Detection
Qualifications: NASA is looking for two graduate student interns to conduct research on machine learning defect detection for X-Ray inspection of mechanical components. This would be a good opportunity for seniors who are planning on attending graduate school in the fall. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen to be considered for the internship.

Uplift Aerospace – Teacher Assistant for Youth VR Program
Details: Internship opportunity from Uplift Aerospace to hire 6 interns from the University of Utah. Interns are being hired to facilitate their Starborn Academy Virtual Reality program in K-12 classrooms across the Salt Lake City School District. The purpose of the program is to get K-12 students excited about STEM and aerospace. Interns will also get an opportunity to assist in special events, including spacesuit training, a career and technology expo, and a field trip to the Kennedy Space Center.
Deadline:The program is hoping to hire all six interns by Tuesday, December 28.
