Meet With My Major
Welcome to the John and Marcia Price College of Engineering! We are excited to have you join us at the U! Before meeting with an advisor to discuss your first semester classes, please first complete your general Orientation module. After this, you will follow the steps based on your major below.

Students are encouraged to complete their general orientation module, and then schedule a 1:1 advising appointment with one of our undergraduate advisors.
In-Person Orientation
Students are encouraged to complete their General Orientation before meeting with an Academic Advisor. If you indicated interest in Chemical Engineering, you will attend a presentation at orientation which will introduce you to the major. Following the presentation, you will receive assistance with building your class schedule. If you have questions for the Chemical Engineering Advising Team, please email our advisors at cheundergrad@utah.edu.
Virtual Orientation:
If you indicated interest in Chemical Engineering, please complete your online General Orientation module first (including the quizzes), and then schedule an appointment with our advising team below.

You should have received an email to your umail with instructions on how to access the Computer/Data Science & Software Development canvas course.
If you recently decided on majoring in Computer/Data Science & Software Development or cannot locate the email that was sent from your CS advisors instructing you on next steps, please email ugrad-help@cs.utah.edu to gain access to the Orientation modules.
Upon completing your Computer Science/Data Science Orientation module, you will be informed on how to make an appointment with your advisor.”

For Transfer students, please complete your general Orientation module and schedule a 1:1 appointment with your appropriate academic advisor (by last name).
Incoming First Year Students should complete your general Orientation module then check the mechanical engineering orientation website to sign up for an orientation live session. Students will be able to register after completing the general orientation module and meeting with their advisor.

Scholarship Opportunities
John and Marcia Price College of Engineering Transfer Scholarship (for students starting in Spring 2024): This scholarship helps to encourage and support transfer students from other colleges and universities.

To apply: Visit Academic Works, fill out the general University of Utah Scholarship application (indicate interest in the College of Engineering), and then search for the “College of Engineering Transfer Scholarship.”
